Cathy and Al moved to Mexico in 2003.  They came down and lived aboard their 32 foot sailboat Chez Nous.  Their first summer in Mexico they experienced
two full blown hurricanes!

After making some repairs to their boat they made the decision to move to a larger vessel and purchased a 41 foot ketch and named it "Spirit".  Not, as it turned out, a good choice as there were a lot of boats named Spirit.. so because their boat had a black hull, they called themselves "Spirit Negra".

They logged over 2,400 miles on Spirit, visiting the mainland of Mexico going as far south as Manzanillo and as far north in the sea of Cortez as bahia Los Angeles.

Now Cathy and Al own a power boat that they have named "Oso Negro".  These pages will chronical their adventures.
